Iraq: Meet Douglas

Last summer Douglas’ church in Erbil, Iraq suddenly got very busy. Hundreds of families found refuge in the grounds of his church as they fled homes, villages and towns. They had heard IS soldiers were on their way to attack them.

In Iraq and Syria, there is death and destruction. Mounira, a mother and a follower of Jesus from Iraq, fled her home when Islamic State militants were nearing her village.

But there is also hope and love. Douglas and others in his church, are hosting hundreds of refugee families who have fled Islamic State, thanks in part to Open Doors supporters.

He’s asking for our ongoing support: “Pray for us. Help us. Save us.”
