Blackout is about raising prayer, awareness and money for persecuted Christians. We want God to intervene, we want more people to understand what’s happening and we also want to be able to practically support Christians living where faith costs the most.
So, get sponsored to go quiet. We’d love to raise a massive amount of money we can put to use in places all across the world where Christians can’t make a sound.
And when you shut down your social networks and switch off the Wi-Fi you’ll have a bunch of extra time – time you can use to pray and act for those whose love for Jesus can only be whispered.
There’s two ways to get sponsored for doing a Blackout. The old fashioned way involves downloading this sponsor form, printing it out and taking it with you everywhere until all your friends and family have pledged to support you.
The futuristic way uses JustGiving.com, and deals with most of the hardwork of collecting money for you – just sign up here and you can email a whole bunch of potential supporters!
Go to Open Doors on JustGiving…
You can also encourage people to give to the work of Open Doors by text. Just Text ODYG15 £(Amount you’d like to give) to 70070 to donate directly to Open Doors.
You can send in money two ways (don’t post us cash).
1. Send us a cheque: If you could write a little letter outlining a bit about yourself along with the cheque that’d be ace. Post it to PO Box 6, Witney, Oxon, OX29 6WG. If you have sponsorship forms include those as we can claim gift aid on the amounts pledged. Please make cheques payable to ‘Open Doors’.
2. Online: Go to www.opendoorsyouth.org/blackout and send a donation via the form there – make sure you put your donation amount in the ‘Blackout’ bit.
And lastly, thank you very much. Your prayers and support really do make a difference.
We support people who are beaten, tortured,
imprisoned, falsely accused, and hated simply for following Jesus.
