Gladys Juma’s husband, Dr Ben Juma, was killed in May 2012 by a group who were angered by his plans to hold an evangelistic meeting in the Jomvu area of Mombasa. “I can’t even explain the pain,” Gladys says.

She was left to care for her four children without Ben, but thanks to your prayers and letters, she knew she wasn’t alone in her pain. When we delivered your letters to her, she said: “I’m so overwhelmed… Love like this is almost too much to comprehend!”

Gladys was able to visit another widow, Sarah Kithaka, to deliver your letters to her at the end of last year. Gladys now meets regularly with a group of eight widows from her community. You can write a message of support and encouragement for one of these widows, and Gladys will pass it on.
