Torture. Prison camps. Death. These are the things a Christian in North Korea faces when they decide to follow Jesus. North Korea has one of the strictest governmental regimes in the world. Christians there face being monitored and watched at all times.
Open Doors North Korea is stepping up its efforts to reach North Korean believers via radio programmes. With the help of partners, we currently broadcast a handful of programmes, and we want to offer supporters the opportunity to write brief messages of encouragement to North Korean believers. The messages will be translated into Korean, recorded by North Korean believers in South Korea and broadcast to North Koreans at night.
The ideal message is brief but specific, eg, “My name is Jane, I am from the UK. I have been praying for North Korea. I pray that God will give you the courage and strength to follow Him no matter what the cost.”
A North Korean secret believer said, “We are astonished that God loves us so much that He uses brothers and sisters that we don’t know to support us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
Your words can communicate God’s hope to those who are facing significant hardship and remind them that the body of Christ is full of people who care and are praying for them.
Campaign end date: 31 March 2018
You must email your message to inspire@opendoorsuk.org only. We cannot pass on hardcopy messages.
For further guidelines on messages of encouragement (please note that you can only email these messages, not post them) visit our simple letter-writing guidelines page.
We support people who are beaten, tortured,
imprisoned, falsely accused, and hated simply for following Jesus.
