Abdu: Thank you for your messages!

February 5, 2018

Over the last few months (and over Christmas), we’ve been collecting your messages of support for Abdu, a 15-year-old teenager in the Middle East who left Islam to follow Jesus and is now dealing with persecution and exclusion.

Our contacts in the Middle East recently spoke to Abdu directly and he shared how the messages you’ve been sending are helping him to stay strong in this faith. However, he’s still very much under pressure, but your prayers have helped him a lot.

“Every time I receive new messages, I am more excited. The prayers by my family around the world encourage me to pray more and to stay strong in the Lord.”

Abdu has been cut-off from his real family because of his faith in Jesus, who he has chosen to keep following.

“You, the people praying for me, feel like my new family. I really depend on you.”

“Thank you from my heart for what you are doing for me by sending these messages. Please don’t stop praying. I call on you to keep praying, not just for me but for all the Christians who are suffering in the Middle East. Please know that every time you record a video or write down an encouragement you are making a difference in the lives of one of your brothers and sisters.”

Abdu still is being taken care of by faithful Christians who are not his real family. His situation has not improved; he is still lonely and isolated. Nevertheless, he is determined to keep believing that God is in charge.

“I may not always understand things, but God has a plan for me. Therefore I can say I am blessed.”

Pray now…

  • Keep praying for Abdu, his missing mum and his Muslim father. Pray for reconciliation and that his dad and brother come to know Jesus.
  • Pray Abdu would stay strong in his faith despite the rejection and isolation he faces.
  • Pray he would develop some amazing Christian friends who will support and love him.

We support people who are beaten, tortured,
imprisoned, falsely accused, and hated simply for following Jesus.
