Nigeria: Trauma centre now open!

By Dan Etheridge

Check out this amazing video showing a trauma centre run by Open Doors partners in Nigeria that has just opened to serve those who have experienced violence and loss because of their faith in Jesus.

Why is it needed?

Christians in northern Nigeria can face extreme persecution. In 12 states, Islamic law is in force, meaning Christians can be singled out and excluded. Plus, Boko Haram, an Islamic militant group have violently targeted Christian schools, churches and communities. Thousands have fled homes. In other places, extremist Muslim Fulani herdsmen attack Christian villages, take land and steal cattle. Many have suffered from loss, trauma and violence. The centre does some amazing work to help survivors find peace and healing.

Pray now…

  • Thank the Lord for the generous support that has enabled the centre to open, and for the impact that it is already having on people’s lives
  • For wisdom and patience for the centre workers as they bring God’s love to the wounded and the broken
  • For protection for the centre, staff, volunteers and visitors. The situation in the area remains volatile.
