Pray for the missing in Iraq

Please pray for Rita, a Christian woman kidnapped by IS in Iraq. She was taken as she travelled across the Nineveh Plains during an attack of IS in August. Having emigrated from Iraq, she only returned to Qaraqosh to get her blind father to take him out of Iraq with her.

But before she could do this, she was kidnapped. Her father Habib, was one of the last ones to leave Qaraqosh, awaiting his daughters return. But at some point even he had to flee to the relatively safer North. Now he’s passing his days weeping about his daughter and asking about her fate.

Rita is one of the many girls IS took with them as slaves. One Yezidi girl who escaped spoke of the horrible fate these girls are facing. She shared that the kidnapped women were separated in different halls according their age and marital status. Every day some of them are picked by the leader of the group – many have been raped. After that, reports suggest they are sold to anyone who is willing to pay for them.

• Ask that these women would be rescued and able to be re-united with their families
