World Watch List: Highest risers vid

Every year, Open Doors releases the World Watch List which helps to show where and how Christians are being persecuted for their faith around the world.

The 2017 list sadly shows no sign of an improving situation. Instead, overall, the level of threats, violence and intimidation towards Christians appears to be rising, with Islamic Extremism being a key factor.

But there also some new developments and some countries which have shown a significant rise in persecution towards followers of Jesus.

• Ask God to give Christians across the world courage, endurance, strength and hope in the midst of the situations they face.
• Pray for the leaders of the countries featured in the video. Ask they would protect the rights and safety of Christians and other minority groups.
• Ask that the international community would pull together to put pressure on countries that don’t protect the rights of all their citizens.
