Gabar’s Story

June 26, 2014

Gabar lived in the town of Tafawa Balewa, Nigeria. He liked to play football with the other children in his village. But one night, the football stopped.

On 6 August 2010, police came to arrest Christians in Gabar’s town. When other Christians came to ask why they were being arrested, the police opened fire. Gabar’s friend described what happened.

“My friend, his name is Gabar, the bullets hit him in the stomach. He fell on the ground. ”

Gabar died of his injuries a day later. He was only 13.

Pray for

  • For God’s Spirit to be at work, comforting families who have suffered trauma or bereavement.
  • That Christians will resist the temptation to respond to attacks against them with violence.
  • For the protection of workers taking Bibles, relief and training to believers in need.

Where is Nigeria?

We support people who are beaten, tortured,
imprisoned, falsely accused, and hated simply for following Jesus.
