Open Doors only exists because someone said ‘Yes’ to God and stepped out on their journey with Him. That someone was Brother Andrew.
In 1952, at the start of his journey with God he prayed the following prayer:
“Whenever, wherever, however you want me, I’ll go… I’ll begin this very minute. Lord, as I stand up from this place, and as I take my first step forward, will you consider that this is a step towards complete obedience towards you? I’ll call it the Step of Yes.”
He had no idea where God would lead him. 60 years later Open Doors, the ministry Brother Andrew founded, is the largest of its kind serving persecuted Christians around the world. Through him God has done incredible things all because he was prepared to say ‘Yes’ to God with each new step.
But it’s not just Brother Andrew who keeps saying ‘Yes’ to God. Many, many persecuted Christians step out in faith, choosing to say ‘Yes’ despite threats, pain, loss, fear and opposition. We think we have masses to learn about following Jesus from our persecuted family. They take daily steps as they follow Jesus that can inspire our own journey.
To find out more, order a copy of our free ‘Ten Steps with the Persecuted Church’ booklet. Inside you’ll meet 10 Christians from around the world who’ve said ‘Yes’ to God despite the risks. Take this first step in discovering an adventurous, dangerous, passionate faith that will challenge you to the core.
Go on, say yes…
We support people who are beaten, tortured,
imprisoned, falsely accused, and hated simply for following Jesus.
